Bensalem Police announced the arrest of Eric Word, a senior at Bensalem High School, this afternoon. Word is charged with corruption of minors, a third-degree felony, and invasion of privacy, a second-degree misdemeanor.
He is also charged with third-degree felony computer theft, which involves taking data from an electronic device without authorization.
According to a statement, Bensalem Police responded to a call from the Trevose section of Bensalem to investigate the illegal access of theft of photographs from the cell phone of a 19-year-old woman. The woman alleged that Word, who is 18, borrowed the phone and downloaded two photographs from it without her knowledge or consent.
Those photos depicted the victim and an 18-year-old female in their bras and underwear. The incident occurred on Aug. 14.
Following a forensic download of Word’s phone, police discovered videos of him having sexual intercourse with at least two females, one of whom was identified as a 14-year-old, along with other photos of females in their bras and underwear. Police are still identifying the other females in the photographs.
Word was arraigned this afternoon by District Justice Joseph Falcone and was taken to County Jail after he was unable to post 10 percent of the $70,000 bail.
