TJ Maxx in Bensalem to host grand opening this weekend with food pantry donation

In celebration of its new 22,500-square foot location in the Woodhaven Plaza in Bensalem, T.J.Maxx will present a $5,000 donation to Greater Works Food Pantry at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 21st at 7:30 a.m.

Despite initial concerns about traffic congestion, Bensalem Township Council unanimously approved the development of the department store in the Woodhaven Plaza last April. It was originally delayed pending a study to analyze the impact of the additional 25,000-square-foot space on the shipping center parking lot and adjacent Route 13.

Developers at Paramount Realty Services Inc. worked with Bensalem Traffic Engineer Phil Wursta to analyze the area. Council ultimately decided that the space would be appropriate for the shopping center on Route 13.

Paramount also contributed $1.5 million to the AMC movie theater last year in return for a 15-year lease extension. AMC will spent about $3 million on renovations to its building, including new seats, carpet, flooring and other upgrades.
